Statement on Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking

Novae is committed to respecting, protecting and advancing human rights. We have zero tolerance for any form of slavery, forced labour or human trafficking and this statement sets out our approach and the steps we have taken to ensure that none of these activities take place anywhere in our business or supply chains.

This statement is made pursuant to Section 54, Part 6 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and has been approved by the board and adopted by Novae Group plc and all Novae group companies.

Our organisation

Novae is a diversified property and casualty (re)insurance business that operates through Syndicate 2007 at Lloyd’s. The Novae Group was established in 1986 and writes both insurance and reinsurance in the property, casualty and marine, aviation and political risks markets in London and Bermuda.

Our people

Novae is committed to maintaining a working environment in which the freedom, diversity and dignity of all our employees is respected. As well as appropriately remunerating and rewarding our staff for the work they do, we strive to promote a collaborative and harmonious working culture supported by our Human Rights, Anti-bullying and Harassment and Equal Opportunity and Diversity policies.  Our grievance and whistleblowing policies and procedures act as a safety net so that any employee can freely express any genuine concerns that they have to help prevent unacceptable behaviour or misconduct.

Our Supply Chains

Given the nature of our business, we believe the risks of slavery or human trafficking existing in our supply chain are low. Nonetheless, we take appropriate steps to ensure that we only do business with parties who share our zero tolerance approach to these activities. Enhancements we are making to our due diligence procedures and our outsourcing and supplier frameworks are therefore specifically designed to ensure that our suppliers, agents and partners are both compliant with the Modern Slavery Act and more broadly committed to human rights and ethical corporate practices.
